Beauty Gadget Compliance: CE, RoHS, FCC, BIS and IEC Safety Standards

Understanding Beauty Gadget Compliance

Beauty gadget compliance starts with the exact appliance and intended use. A facial brush, heat styling tool, light-based mask, massage device and connected beauty device may each bring different safety, radio, battery and product-claim questions. Shrih Electronics encourages model-specific verification before import, marketing or distribution.

Relevant IEC safety families can include IEC 60335-2-115 for electric skin beauty-care appliances, IEC 60335-2-23 for hair-care appliances, IEC 60335-2-32 for electric massage appliances and IEC 60335-2-113 for beauty-care appliances incorporating lasers or intense light sources. These are standards, not automatic certificates for every device.

In Europe, CE conformity assessment and RoHS obligations may be relevant to electrical/electronic equipment; connected devices can add radio requirements. In the USA, devices with RF functions may need the appropriate FCC equipment authorisation. BIS applicability in India depends on the current scope and exact product.

Medical claims can change the regulatory analysis. Marketing language, labelling and intended purpose matter; use specialist advice for any device claimed to diagnose, treat, prevent or monitor a medical condition.

Request the final model’s reports, declarations, labels, manuals, charging/battery details and any applicable IDs or listings. Then have the importer or competent adviser confirm the destination requirements.
